A terrible disaster recently befell Turkey and Syria. A huge number of people died as a result of a strong earthquake. On behalf of the churches of the Pacific Coast’s Association of Churches, we express our sympathy and condolences to the people who have suffered as a result of this tragedy.
We pray that the Lord will show His mercy and would comfort those who have lost their friends and relatives, who have lost a roof over their heads, who have been injured as a result of the destruction of buildings. We pray that the Lord will show His mercy and would comfort to those who are now in need, both spiritually and physically.
For many years, Christians served in southern Turkey, preaching the Gospel in a resistant Muslim community. Unfortunately, these massive efforts and expenses have not always been rewarded with a lot of visible results in these places. However, today the situation has changed dramatically. All of a sudden, thousands of people lost everything they had, and now they are literally on the streets without a livelihood, job, home, family, children and future... The hearts of these people are in despair. They really need help! More than ever they need support, attention, comfort, and the love of Christ, which we we can give them today!
A small group of brothers visited Turkey, where together with the local churches they provided spiritual and physical assistance to the victims, and demonstrated to them the love of God in deed. The following things are desperately needed: tents, sleeping bags, gas generators and fuel for them, warm clothes, etc. This requires significant amount of resources.

We live in a time of great turbulence, not only in wars, but also in earthquakes, fires, floods... The time of the coming of the Lord is drawing near and the current events are warning signs of it! May God bless us to be ready for His glorious second coming! And while there is still time, let us do our best to preach the Gospel through interactions that we have, and through or deeds so that the sinners would be saved!
