From June 23 through July 8, the Second Slavic Baptist Church, supported by many other Christians, is going to run an annual reunion camp for about 200 widows and 320 orphans in Ukraine. These are women and children who have tragically lost their husbands and fathers because of the ongoing hybrid war in the Ukraine.
Seven years ago when the first group of widows cautiously agreed to attend the camp, they struggled to understand why this Christian team from California was so motivated to serve them. Grieving because of their loss, in most cases having no faith in God or doubting His love in their circumstances, they hesitantly entered the camp. Yet soon, they were immersed in the atmosphere of compassion, sincere service, exciting events, and comforting conversations. These camps have not only brought bright moments, comfort, hope, and joy to these widows’ lives but also helped them learn biblical truths and build relationships with Christian friends. And for some, the camp has become a path for them to meet and follow Jesus, the best Friend ever.
The camp is being provided for these widows and orphans free of charge. Although a number of God’s people have made contributions to make it happen, we are still short $7,000, which needs to be raised by June 30, 2021. Any modest amount you can donate will be of much help to us and is highly appreciated.
Donations can be made through the Connect International Mission – click this link: . In the Designation field, please select “From Heart to Heart (ministry to widows)”. All gifts are tax-deductible. Connect International is an ECFA accredited non-profit corporation of California, USA.
Please support this project by prayer also.
