On August 29 to September 2, there was a United Christian youth camp at Trinity Lake. Over 600 young men and women came from various churches of the Pacific Coast’s Association, and by God’s mercy about 100 people came to God in their prayer of repentance.
The theme of the camp was, “Joy In the Fear of God”. The main speaker was pastor Manny Pereira from San Jose. During his sermons, he put a lot of emphasis in distinguishing between worldly pleasures and the joy of Christ; between worldly fears and the fear of God. “What are you afraid of? Is it what the world thinks or what God thinks?” – this was the main question for consideration.
With every year more and more youth from various PCSBA’s churches continue to come to this camp. This year, Bryte Church, House of the Gospel, Grace Avenue Bible Church, Grace Family Church, First Slavic Baptist Church, Second Slavic Babtist Church, Hayward Church, Willow Gospel Church, The Living Stones Church took an active role at this camp.
According to the PCSBA’s youth leader, Yevgeniy Komyshev, from the organizational and logistics’ point of view, Camp United went very well. And when it comes to spiritual growth and evangelism, this camp was especially a blessing. Over the course of almost four days, the youth had an opportunity to rest and be engaged in various activities such as volleyball, table games, and spending time at the lake. There was a great time of fellowship with other brothers and sisters in Christ, worshipping together, and reading the Bible. Fellowshipping around the Word of God was instrumental in strengthening bonds among brothers and sisters, as well as between churches. Everyone had an opportunity to enjoy wonderful weather and delicious food. Praise God for this camp and that many people came to Christ
