On May 17, over thirty people came to First Slavic Baptist Church for the first Creative Arts Conference. The goal of the conference was to attract creative people to ministry of the Association’s departments, give them an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, and share it with a bigger audience.
The editors of “God’s Vineyard” Magazine, and “Our Days” Newspaper, leaders of the Literature Ministry, Information Ministry, and Radio Ministry offered ministry opportunities and invited those in attendance to join them. After that, the poets, authors, and artists, who are members of the local churches, shared about themselves, their creativity, read their poems, and presented their artwork.
As it turns out, our churches have many people who are gifted by God and possess many great talents. Some of them have already attained certain level of popularity, were able to publish in various publications and almanacs, participated in their local churches, etc. However, there were also those who are taking their first steps on their path of creative work and ministry. One thing is for sure, everyone who came was glad to hear each other, and share their experiences.
Unfortunately, due to the time restraints, some people did not get a chance to share about themselves and their abilities. However, at least everyone was able to hear about how they could get in touch to get their work publicized and serve in the ministry of their choice.
This was the first conference, but we hope that it would not be the last. There is a desire for similar events which will clearly be beneficial. We will ask the Lord for wisdom in developing this ministry in the future, to the praise of His glory, for the benefit of the churches and the people of God.
