Over a hundred people from various countries registered to participate in the online conference about ECB Media which was organized by Euro-Asian Federation of the Unions and Churches of ECB. The meeting took place on April 8-9. The chairmen of unions, staff from churches and various Christian organizations that work in the media were discussing the theme of “SMI After the Pandemic”. Everyone came to the consensus that generally Baptists are trailing behind on this issue; our involvement in SMI is very, very limited.
The content of the conference was not limited only to this theme. There were other reports and discussions about the state of SMI of ECB today, as well as the practical segments during which some experts shared their experience in establishing studios on a budget for the radio and television, how to develop the YouTube channels, and more. There was also so called “a parade of SMI” during which the participants shared what resources are available to them and how they are used.
Almost all of the conference’s sections were recorded and can be found and downloaded at the following:
In the final portion, there was a discussion of creating a portal for ECB where it would be possible to upload information of the most useful websites of ECB, and other spiritually-edifying content, and it would also be a place where it would be possible to ask questions, and much more. To the organizing committee was given a responsibility to study this issue, and to present a possible plan of action to the Federation.
Unfortunately, the timing of the conference was very inconvenient to the American attendees, and that is why not many of them were able to take a part in it. From the Pacific Coast’s Association, I. Mileyev, O. Avetisova, and L. Bezinskiy were present.
