Our campground and the thrift store are experiencing some difficult times. However, by the Grace of God, and thanks to the dedicated service of the director and his team, this ministry is continuing.
Although fire caused a lot of damage to the surrounding area, by God’s mercy, the campground did not have significant damage. Just like everything in the region, the level of activity of the campground was significantly limited. The government and the forest oversight teams have shut down the campground due to the instability of the earth in the region. The campground was inactive during some of the most profitable months of the year: December, January, and February.
The Pacific Thrift Store has also experienced some challenges as well. Somehow, it continues to stay afloat, although the staff of the store and the warehouse were either sick or are currently sick with COVID. The pandemic also affected the buyers. There are a lot less of them now. However, the store continues to open their doors to those who would like to purchase something.
Pavel Tsvirinko from the Second Slavic Baptist Church is overseeing the work of both the camp, and the store as well. This brother is selfless in serving in this difficult role, and he does what he can in order to rebuild the campground, and to make the store operations profitable. Not everyone is capable of handling such an enormous amount of pressure that he experienced lately. However, he continues to be encouraged and selflessly continues to do what he can.
Please join us in thanking the Lord for His blessings which He poured out on us through the ministry of the campground and store staff. Please pray that we would be able to rebuild the campground quicker; that God would prevent people from getting infected by the virus and other sicknesses and that the store would be able to resume their operations and be back in full swing providing financial support to our missionaries. Please pray especially for Pavel Tsvirinko, for his physical and spiritual well-being, and for the strength for future ministry.
