For The Cornerstone Slavic Baptist Church, the church picnic organized on the last Sunday of July was a wonderful celebration and worship of God with a group of new immigrant friends. More than 200 guests joined the church fellowship and shared the blessings that we receive from God and each other.
“Each of us needs fellowship, and young immigrants especially. That is why our church regularly holds such meetings,” says pastor Oleg Kostyuk. The church picnic included not only delicious treats, kebabs and pilaf, but various valuable resources for adapting to a new country were also presented.
There were various entertainments for children: an inflatable house, a soap bubble show, fun games, sports, crafts and art work. Great joy accompanied us all this unforgettable day, and brought a lot of smiles to the happy children.
However, what is most unique and perhaps most wonderful about this event and ministry is that the vast majority of picnic immigrants now attend morning church services and home Bible study groups. They hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and respond to God's call. We really need each other. And God works in people's lives through us. May He be glorified in everything!
