The theme of the 79th Convention which took place at the Second Slavic church on October 20-22 was “Your Word is Truth”.
Three Doctors of Theology and two Masters of Theology taught the seminars about the inerrancy, infallibility, and authority of Scriptures. The seminar was very interesting and addressed the difficulties of the translation of the Bible into different languages, the process of canonicity, and the compilation of the Holy Scriptures.
In the second part - the decision-making part of the convention - the leadership of the Association's Committee reported the progress of the two years of ministry. Unfortunately, a majority of the Association’s church members are either completely unaware or just partially aware of the enormous work that is done by the Committee and the departments of the Association. The convention presented a good opportunity to familiarize the churches’ delegates with the work done at the Association’s level. This convention held a re-election of the leadership and members of the Association’s Committee. Ivan Vladimirovich Mileyev, a pastor from Fresno, was elected to the position of President; his deputies are Michael Yuryevich Avramenko and Nicolay Alekseyevich Bugriyev.
