Honolulu Slavic Church families gathered together at the Camp Mokuleia to enjoy the great outdoors as well to attend a family conference hosted by the guest speaker, Pastor Igor Yurevich Trebushnoy, Russian Baptist Church, Federal Way, Washington.
The conference focused on marriage and raising the kids and how to endure the challenges of the modern world with its attacks on the institution of a family. Following the worship services, the camp offered plenty of fun activities for kids, youth, and adults alike including volleyball, basketball, swimming at the pool and ocean, friendly competitions in tug-of-war, running in teams, tossing the hoops, and others. In the evenings, couples gathered together to enjoy quiet time with tea and discussions on various topics around a spacious lodge room. In the end of this three-day retreat, all in attendance thanked the camp organizers for a blessed time and expressed appreciation for such a wonderful opportunity to spend time together with the families in a less formal atmosphere.
Two weeks later, another memorable event took place at the Honolulu Slavic Church on March 5th, 2023 when two young men and two young women publicly dedicated their lives to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by being baptized in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. HSC Pastor Pavel Marchenko baptized these four young Christians as the church witnessed this occasion from the shore.
After the baptism, everyone returned from the ocean shore to the church for the Sunday service, where Pastor Pavel performed a prayer of blessing for the youth who had joined the church. After the celebration of the Lord's Supper, fellowship continued at a festive dinner. The brothers and sisters exchanged words of congratulations, blessings and encouragement for new brothers and sisters in Christ.
