Greetings to you dear brothers and sisters! Accept my brotherly greeting from Moldova! By the grace of God we are alive and well, and have the strength to serve Him.
It’s been four years since we began a joint ministry of Moldavian Union and PCSBA. Our partnership with the joint missionary ministry began with the ministry in Africa, and then Europe.
I am grateful for the many members of our churches who ministered alongside of us in difficult, and sometimes even dangerous missionary projects. I thank you for your prayers, sacrifices, and compassion. All our efforts, concerns, and ministry is for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!
For the upcoming summer season, we are planning a missionary trip to Africa from June 7 to July 27. The trip will take place in the refugee camps in the southern part of Uganda. The refugees are from South Sudan and other tribes. This trip will be another one of our joint projects with you. The team will consist of 5 people from Moldova and 2 people from your Association, from Slavic Church of Castro Valley.
We want to also extend an invitation to everyone who wishes to be part of our team. The main goal of the trip is to help the local Baptist churches which formed in the refugee camps. We are planning mass evangelistic services, Christian education, pastor development session, children’s camps, showing of the movie “Jesus” in the local tribal languages, the opening of schools in the local churches, and feeding of as many people as possible.
In order to help them with the hunger problem, we are ordering special ovens for baking bread. These ovens are manufactured in the neighboring country of Kenya. They are unique in that they are very light, work on the tree charcoal, and are very efficient. During the last trip we were able to give our brothers only 5 ovens. These ovens ended up being in high demand. We are asked to bring more of these ovens. We want to acquire at least 10 more ovens. One oven costs $700. Furthermore, each oven requires 500kg of flour, sugar, salt, yeast, molds for baking, which is an additional $500. Unfortunately we do not have such finances.
We are asking your help in acquiring these 10 ovens for brothers and sisters who are constantly starving.
"Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith." (Gal. 6:9-10)
May the Lord bless you!
With brotherly love, Igor Mordvinov
