About sixty people heard the Good News during an outreach in Mountain View, which took place on September 11 and was timed to coincide with the Feast of the Harvest.
With the oversight of the Association’s Missionary Department, a group of Christians from Palo Alto and the First Slavic Baptist Church partnering with Bryte chruch and Grace Family Church held a special outside service. According to Pastor Petr Panasenko, the event had two goals:
- Spreading the Good News.
- The revival of the tradition of live fellowship and praising the Lord, which was lost during the coronavirus pandemic.
The program was designed for residents of San Jose and Palo Alto. Christians prayed for bread and water, for the Word of God and for the harvest. Those in attendance benefitted from plov, as well as sweets, singing and Bible quizzes with prizes, fellowship and preaching! The musical program was also very rich: poems and songs, musicians playing folk and modern instruments, as well as solo and group performances. All the guests were satisfied and thanked the organizers for the opportunity to come together to glorify the Lord.
Vadim Yurchak, who is the head of the missionary department of the Association, suggested to have such events more regularly in the future: “I think that at least once a quarter we need to gather for joint prayer and fellowship. Such meetings have a beneficial effect on brothers and sisters, raising their spirits and strengthening them by giving them hope. We are learning to evangelize and share spiritual truths with those who do not know Christ.”
